A number of our members have given their experiences of the club to give some insight into what the club is all about and who it might appeal to.

Mark: “As a long-time, but lapsed, runner I was delighted to join MAC as it gave me the opportunity to regain lost form and race competitively as a team member. The MAC membership is comprised of a broad range of ages & abilities with an equally varied focus on training, ranging from our home beach to local forests & fells. Underpinning the club is a commaradery, which makes our runs good fun and something to look forward to.”

Hugh: “Since taking up running 4 yrs ago I always trained on my own, then I kept seeing the newly formed Murlough AC in the local paper and I knew I had to join. It has been very encouraging training with a such a great group of people who share a love of running.  I’ve enjoyed my running even more, since joining.  The Club is always improving and training sessions are becoming more varied.  The recent training workshops have also been beneficial.”

Caroline: “Since joining Mac over a year ago running has become an important part of my life – I went from not being able to run 3 miles to completing two marathons in 7 months! The support and motivation I get from my fellow runners is fantastic and I look forward to meeting up twice weekly, not only for the runs which are in such beautiful locations, but also for the camaraderie. By joining the club I have learned so much about running, core stability and strength and how to improve my stamina through both organised coaching sessions and from the more experienced runners. MAC is a highly sociable club, very welcoming to new members and for me, makes running an enjoyable and positive experience.”
